The Colorado Model Railroad Museum is proud to announce the 1st Annual Holiday Festival of Trains.

Over the past few years the Colorado Model Railroad Museum has become a favorite attraction for locals to bring their out-of-town guests. Every year the museum has added hours to the schedule around Christmas break and every year our attendance has risen. In 2013 over 2,000 people visited the museum during the 2 weeks of Christmas break. In response to this the museum has created the 1st Annual “Holiday Festival of Trains”. The museum will kick off the season with a “Night Trains with Santa” event on Friday evening, December 19th, from 5-8pm. The lights will be dimmed, the smell of cookies and hot cocoa will be in the air, music will guide guests through the layout and kids can visit Santa at the Caboose. Family photos with Santa will be available also. The “Holiday Festival Trains” runs from Friday, December 19th to Sunday, January 4th, 2015 during the time children are on Christmas break from school.

There are many more special events during this festival. “Christmas Eve in the Morning” is an event for families to come out on Christmas Eve from 10am-2pm to help pass the time on the longest day of the year for kids. New Year’s Eve will also have special children’s activities and crafts and the museum will be open from 10am-2pm.
