Hosted by the Estes Park Museum, “Yesterado: Stories of Colorado When it Was Young” will show you Colorado history as you have never seen it before! Pulled from the pulp of late nineteenth century newspapers, this sharp, fun slice of showmanship uses the stories of con man Soapy Smith, socialite Molly Brown, and cyclist Dora Rinehart to create a living, breathing portrait of our state when it was still cutting its teeth. Performed by the Buntport Theater of Denver, “Yesterado” is ideal for grades K-6, but all ages are welcome. Following the 55 minute show will be an introduction by a local theater group performing "The Impossible Paradise," an original play that celebrates Rocky Mountain National Park’s 100th anniversary. “The Impossible Paradise” tells the story of how Estes Park's earliest pioneers influenced the area as well as the story of a love doomed from the start, but powerful enough to last beyond death. There is romance, intrigue, and even a murder! The full production of "The Impossible Paradise" will take place at the Estes Park Museum on May 22, 23 and 24. Funding for "Yesterado" was made possible with a generous grant from The Rotary Club of Estes Park Foundation Inc.
